Background

PRINCIPAL: J. Jacobs, BSEE Drexel University-1979

Tech Associates, LLC was originally founded in February 1981 as Technology Associates by Joseph J. Jacobs in Burlington County, New Jersey. In November of 2011, the name was changed to Tech Associates LLC and is registered with the State of New Jersey and with the Division of Taxation.

Joe attended the Camden County Vocational & Technical Schools (renamed to Camden County Technical Schools) campus in Sicklerville, NJ majoring in electronics technology.  After graduating CCVTS in 1973, he was very successful in a career as an electronics technician.

He attended Drexel University in Philadelphia and graduated  in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering (BSEE).  As an engineer with extensive experience and skill in BOTH digital hardware AND software design, Joe can offer an uncommon combination of potential resources. Special emphasis is given to those projects involving custom interface. Past employers include: Siemens Corporation, Jerrold Division-General Instrument, and Singer-Link Simulation Systems. Past projects are widely varied and include automated IC test systems, cable-TV scrambling systems, power-plant simulation, commercial alarm systems, a credit-card based cellular telephone system, flow metering for fire-trucks, prom-burners, and the list goes on. If your business includes embedded controllers, Joe is an experienced & talented resource at your disposal and only a telephone call away.

In addition to design engineering expertise, Joe worked as a commerical TV broadcast engineer for WKBS-TV48 (Philadelphia) and KYW-TV3 (Philadelphia). Some of the duties in the TV stations included equipment maintenance, Master Control Technical Director, Video-tape manager, Still-store operator and teleprompter operator for on-the-air live newscasts. Joe is very proud of the fact that he worked a 40+ hour full-time job (at WKBS) simultaneous with attending Drexel University, full-time working toward his EE degree.

As a trained/certified locksmith, he services the local community. Much of the work performed has been for the U.S. Bancruptcy Court trustees in connection with bancruptcy filings. In addition, services are provided for local new homeowners who desire to 'change the locks' when they move into their new home. Re-keying existing locks is generally more cost-effective than wholesale replacement of all locks, and a lot quicker.
